Welcome to Derek Kessinger State Farm!

Originally from Chatsworth, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the values of hard work and dedication that define our local communities. I’m genuinely pumped to serve the residents of this area and help them protect what matters most.

My journey began at Illinois State University, where I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Before I found my way into the insurance world, I had the incredible opportunity to work as a broadcaster for Flo Sports, covering the exhilarating world of dirt late model racing. This experience taught me the importance of storytelling and connection—skills I now bring to my agency.

When I’m not at work, you can find me immersed in the world of basketball. As a huge fan and grade school basketball coach, I love sharing my passion for the game with young athletes. Family is everything to me, and I’m blessed to be married to my wonderful wife, Colleen. Together, we have three amazing kids: Sophie (7), Tommy (5), and Chloe (2). They keep our lives full of laughter and joy!
